MEET THE FOUNDER

D'Angelo Virgo

Founder and Executive Director

D’Angelo Virgo is an author, educator, and political campaign strategist with nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of politics and education. A former civics and social studies teacher turned education advocate and strategist, D’Angelo is deeply committed to empowering underrepresented communities through civic knowledge and political engagement.

He earned his degree in Government and Political Affairs from Millersville University and went on to study International Relations at London Metropolitan University. His career has been marked by a passion for civic education, grassroots organizing, and leadership development, particularly in communities historically excluded from political power.

D’Angelo currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Black Music Therapist Network, where he supports efforts to advance healing and mental health in Black communities through culturally responsive music therapy.

In addition to his work in education and politics, D’Angelo is a classically trained violinist and published author. He believes that a strong, comprehensive civics education is essential to sustaining a thriving democracy—and has dedicated his life to ensuring every voice is informed, engaged, and heard.
